“Some days I can set myself adrift in space. In time.” from “Cliff-Dweller” by Sarah Connor
Some days I’m cliff, unmoving, snared
by gravity and steel-trap views
of skyline, shoreline, night, and day.
I can set myself adrift in dreams
of flight, or fantasies of floating free
of anchor on a starlit sea.
But dreams and fantasies dissolve
to leave me stuck in space. In time.
