Lure

You dangle your heart

from the clothesline,

promise me it’s candy.

I know you only want

to hang me out

to dry.

Medicine Cabinet

Full of bottles,

long forgotten,

long expired,

shelves now caked

with dust and rusted

ridges holding

rounded imprints,

maybes and regrets.
