Struggle

This bed is a boat that bobs.

It’s up when I feel down.

It sinks down when I get up.

It jags when I jiggle, 

It’s a struggle to get up.

I plant my feet in the land

of the living, but the ground

is getting soggy and pulls 

me under muddy water

every day.
