My Dreams

My dreams

are mostly dead.

I want to revive them,

but the coffeemaker

in my dreams

has no cord

to plug into the wall.

There are no walls

in my dreams.

I want to build them,

but all I can find

are paper cups

filled with cold

coffee I couldn’t make

without a cord.

Or a wall socket.

Or a wall.

My dreams are

mostly dead.
