Helping Out

Stealing ice cream

from the freezer

that my husband 

shouldn’t have,

I pretend to 

help control his

diabetes by

depleting his

dessert. Though I

know he’ll walk

for more, the only

exercise he’ll get,

I enjoy this

frozen moment,

nighttime giggling

as he sleeps.
