Grass

Once summer’s grass
was a barefoot delight.
I felt it between toes
and munched on
its sweetness.
Now fall is peeping
through leaves
turning yellow.
Grass fades to memory
and sweetness to socks.
inspired by Winslow Homer’s “Boys in a Pasture”
I really like the way you phrased the ending of the poem, Nolcha! 💛
Sincerely,
David
Nice! Makes me smile.
I love barefeet on soft summer grass!
Great line: "sweetness to socks"
Good take on the prompt!
Delightful take on the prompt!! Seasons changing is evident in their attire and their surroundings!!
Nice, " sweetness to socks"
