Goodbye to Spring

No matter how savory

the banquet of tulips,

the wine flasks of irises

phlox choirs singing,

dandelions dancing.

Wind pushes clock hands

from springtime to summer.

Columbines, bee balm,

yarrow, pink rambling rose,

here’s looking at you, June.
