You are river-bottom pebbles, patient, waiting to
catch the light, current sway, fish kisses.
Kisses are all you want to catch.
Catch the eyes of the women, you cast your line,
your hook pierces vague wormy words.
Words to keep them coming back to the bait.
Bait them, they swim around you,
wondering what you want.
You want to brag you’re dating,
you’ve made the perfect catch.
Catch them on Facebook, trophy women
friends, women you’ll never kiss.
Kisses are impossible with
your river-bottom-pebble lips.
