This moment is strapped into the front seat of my car as I accelerate into the future. This moment tells me it’s all happened before, and I cannot escape it, no matter how quickly I drive.
I drive through the night to outrace a life wasted on dreams and drinking. I drive to find a better moment than the one that climbs on my shoulders and covers my eyes. I am in the dark, and I cannot see my destination.
This moment tells me to stop the car. I’ve already arrived. I’ve always been exactly where I need to be.
