Boating

Updated: Aug 22

Under the Sea, by Glyn Philpot (England) 1918

I was born on a boat of rock,

a boat of silent anger.

Don’t rock the boat,

don’t tell the world

what you think.

Don’t make mistakes,

you won’t survive a boat

that rocks and capsizes.

I was born on a boat

that might not float

on the ocean of denial.

I cut the ropes that tied

me to the boat, and sunk

to deck the ocean floor,

a rigid rock of lies,

a suicide of sorrow.
