Blame

Don’t be quick to blame and shame

for what you don’t see written.

Adam was with Eve

when tempted in the Garden.

Perhaps he was distracted

by an early form of football,

or suffered Yes-Dear-itis

or marital hearing loss.

Perhaps the snake was just

a test that broken humans failed.

Perhaps there was

a greater plan and Eve

was the beginning.
